How overthinking Affects You
When we overthink, we have difficulty making decisions or taking actions because we over-analyze. We have an overwhelming amount of information in our brains. We can only remember a few things, so the rest has to get shuffled in the back. That’s why you never remember what you wore yesterday, the day before, or any day before that.
You might not realize that you’re overthinking until you have an “aha” moment when you realize that everything was going fine until you got to a certain point and had to think hard. This moment is when you realize you’re overthinking. We can usually fix overthinking by getting outside and moving. Or by making decisions and taking action. Or by getting away from our head and talking to someone.
We can also overthink by just sitting around and thinking. When you take a break, do you sit around and think, or do you do something more productive? Here are some examples of overthinking:
